New Rochelle Parking Rules
Unlike many other cities in New York that activate stricter street rules in the winter, the City of New Rochelle does the exact opposite. Alternate side of street parking regulations specifically meant for street sweeping are suspended during the winter months from January 1 to March 31 of each year.
Spring to Fall Enforcement (April 1 - December 31)
Alternate side parking is enforced citywide starting April 1st. During this time, drivers must move their vehicles according to the posted signs to accommodate the street sweepers.
Important Warning Regarding Other Restrictions
While street sweeping rules are suspended in winter, other parking regulations are strictly enforced year-round. Always check street signs carefully. For instance, any Area Resident Overnight permit holder parked before 5:00 PM or after 9:00 AM is subject to ticketing or towing. Commercial vehicles are also prohibited from parking anywhere except the Lawn Ave Lot with a valid City-issued permit.
